Football Recap: Victory Christian Comes Up Short

Victory Christian was the 49-21 winner over Fayetteville when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Lions and the Wolves didn't end well, with the Lions falling 30-12. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Victory Christian still got an impressive performance from Chase Pond, who rushed for 161 yards and one touchdown.

Fayetteville was led to victory by Cameron Hammonds and Presley Duke. Hammonds rushed for 153 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries, while Duke rushed for 153 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Hammonds' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards. Brennon Marlin got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Victory Christian suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 2-4. As for Fayetteville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Victory Christian will host Donoho at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Fayetteville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
