Volleyball Game Preview: Escalon Cougars vs. Sonora Wildcats + Official Tickets

Escalon and Sonora are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2021, but not for long. The Cougars will square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Escalon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against El Dorado by a score of 3-1.

Escalon relied on the efforts of Brynn Caton, who had five digs and four aces, and Emma Strong, who had 13 digs, 11 kills, and three aces. That's the most aces Strong has posted over her last seven matches.

They weren't the only good servers: Escalon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Sonora beat Wheatland 3-1 on Thursday.

The win got Escalon back to even at 15-15. As for Sonora, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.

Escalon suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Sonora in their previous matchup back in October. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
