Basketball Recap: Riverside Frontiers vs. Emerson Vo-Tech Eagles
After losing to the Emerson Vo-Tech Eagles the last time they met, the Riverside Frontiers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Riverside enjoyed a cozy 59-41 win over the Eagles on Monday. That 18 point margin sets a new team best for Riverside this season.
Javon Elliot was his usual excellent self, scoring 36 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Nelson Camacho was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Riverside's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Emerson Vo-Tech, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Owls at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Olmsted presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Frontiers in New York (the Owls are ranked 304th, while the Frontiers are ranked 728th). Emerson Vo-Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
