Borden County snaps six-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Borden County Coyotes vs. Cornerstone Christian Warriors

After flying high against the Petersburg Buffaloes two weeks ago, the Borden County Coyotes came back down to earth. Borden County ended up on the wrong side of a tough 79-54 walloping at the hands of Cornerstone Christian on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Borden County has suffered yet this season.

It was another big night for Yasmeen Schmidt, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds for Cornerstone Christian. Schmidt hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Kiana Henning, who scored 20 points along with six assists and three steals.

Borden County's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for Cornerstone Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 25-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Borden County will challenge Lorenzo at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Lorenzo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1186th, while Borden County is ranked 116th). As for Cornerstone Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Cypress Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
