It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ashley had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Holly Springs Golden Hawks 4-3. Winning may never get old, but Ashley sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Jackson Lee tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Quinn Bentley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Potter, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with an RBI.
Ashley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. As for Holly Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11.
Ashley will be playing in front of their home fans against Pinecrest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pinecrest is coming into the matchup with six straight wins on the road, so Ashley will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Holly Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
