Softball Game Preview: Rio/Fall River vs. Parkview Vikings

Rio/Fall River are taking a road trip to take on the Parkview Vikings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Rio/Fall River has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Princeton/Green Lake hit Rio/Fall River with a five-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Rio/Fall River came up short against Princeton/Green Lake, falling 11-5. The loss was Rio/Fall River's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Parkview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palmyra-Eagle.

Mariah Roden made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Keely Douglas also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rio/Fall River fell to 3-1. As for Parkview, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
