Football Game Preview: Cigarroa Toros vs. Nixon Mustangs

Cigarroa hasn't had much luck against Nixon recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Toros are taking a road trip to take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Cigarroa has given up an average of 37.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cigarroa is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Jay last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Toros took a blow against the Mustangs, falling 35-6. The Toros were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Meanwhile, Nixon suffered their biggest defeat since September 12, 2024 on Thursday. They were dealt a 38-7 loss at the hands of Jay. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Nixon's biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Cigarroa will have to contain Emiliano Hernandez as he made an impact in Nixon's last game. He picked up 31 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 53 yards.

Nixon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Cigarroa, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Cigarroa couldn't quite finish off Nixon when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 12-10. Can the Toros avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
