Baseball Game Preview: Champlin Park Rebels vs. Washburn Millers

The Champlin Park Rebels will venture away from home to take on the Washburn Millers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Champlin Park's offense. They lost 7-0 to Fergus Falls on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rebels have suffered since May 22, 2024.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Washburn and Edina, and Edina kept the tradition alive. The Millers came up short against the Hornets on Saturday, falling 11-1.

Washburn's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Champlin Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.

Champlin Park was able to grind out a solid win over Washburn in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
