Mid-Southern recap November 13, 2013

Brownstown Central scaled the state rankings by moving to 66 from 94 this week, the biggest jump in Mid-Southern. The Braves were able to move up by beating Charlestown 62-6.

Brownstown Central extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Pirates, 62-6. The victory was the 12th in a row for Reed May's team.

The Braves' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Clay Brown threw for 288 and 3 touchdowns and Mitchell Grider had 118 yards receiving. On the ground Filippo Lippi-Hutcheson contributed 82 yards. Kyle Jensen helped Brownstown Central's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 59 yards.

He went 16-21 with 0 interceptions.

Brown put up the best numbers through the air as Brownstown Central defeated Charlestown. Brown's favorite target this week was Grider, who caught 5 passes for 118 yards.

Brownstown Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Braves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brown has thrown for 2,664 yards and 39 touchdowns this season, while Jacob Wilson has 34 catches for 686 yards.

The Braves' Justin Donnells needs only 34 yards against Gibson Southern next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Donnells has rushed for 966 yards on 152 carries so far this year.

Jason Hawkins' team fell to Brownstown Central 62-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tristen Chester threw for 153 yards and 1 touchdown in the loss.
