Football Game Preview: Benjamin Davis Falcons vs. The Woodlands Highlanders

The Benjamin Davis Falcons will challenge The Woodlands Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

The Woodlands will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Benjamin Davis extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Falcons took their matchup with ease, bagging a 59-6 victory over MacArthur. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 512th, while the Generals are ranked 1101st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, The Woodlands got the win against Oak Ridge on Thursday by a conclusive 28-7. The Highlanders' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Benjamin Davis better keep an eye on Jack Daulton. He was instrumental in The Woodlands' win, rushing for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 148 yards and one TD. Daulton's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards. A healthy portion of Daulton's aerial production (101 yards to be exact) went to Carter Cass, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

The Woodlands was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 203 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Benjamin Davis' record is now 7-3. As for The Woodlands, their record now sits at 8-2.
