Softball Recap: Bryan Comes Up Short

Bryan extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-16. They lost 16-0 to the Omaha Central Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-0 loss two weeks ago.

As for Omaha Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by eight runs or more this season.

For Omaha Central's part, Edie Titus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Titus was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Katelyn McClure was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Nichole Palfini was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Bryan will head out to square off against Westview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Omaha Central, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-0 victory against Buena Vista on the 20th.
