Volleyball Recap: Palm Valley FIREBIRDS vs. Public Safety Academy Phoenix

Palm Valley's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Public Safety Academy Phoenix. The victory was some much needed relief for the FIREBIRDS as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Palm Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-17, 25-17, 25-23.

Alex Ratner paced Palm Valley's offense, picking up 14 kills. Ratner got some help from Pres Pillard and his 11 assists. Pillard was also solid from the service line: he led the team with seven aces.

The win got Palm Valley back to even at 4-4. As for Public Safety Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
