Basketball Recap: Churchill Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Churchill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past the Brandeis Broncos with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 68-52. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Broncos on January 3rd, they had to take a 57-44 defeat.

Loss or not, Brandeis got some senior leadership from Finley Montoya and Sean Tisdall. Montoya went 8 for 13 on his way to 20 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Tisdall went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points. The match was Montoya's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tj Byrd, who posted five points.

Churchill is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Brandeis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-12.

Churchill will square off against SA Roosevelt at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Brandeis, they will challenge Clark at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
