Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Leander's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Leander won the last time they faced Hays and Emma Davis did her part to make sure it happened again. The Lions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hawks on Tuesday thanks in part to Davis, who had 20 digs and four aces. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Leander was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-18.

When it comes to explaining why Hays lost, don't look at Ayla Matias. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and two assists.

Leander is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-19 record this season. As for Hays, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-20.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Leander will challenge rival Cedar Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hays is set to face off against their familiar foe Liberty Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
