Softball Game Preview: El Camino Real Royals vs. Royal Highlanders

The El Camino Real Royals will take on the Royal Highlanders at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

El Camino Real came up into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Harvard-Westlake by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Royals have suffered since April 3, 2024.

Amaya Perry was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Senia Gutierrez, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Royal had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Agoura, sneaking past 5-3.

Julianna Galbraith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Holly White, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Marilyn Augusta was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
