Recap: Grimsley Whirlies vs. Riverside-Durham Pirates
The Grimsley Whirlies had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed by Riverside-Durham on the road to the tune of 62-18.
Grimsley found their leader in underclassman Sanaya Blount, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Knapp, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Grimsley's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Riverside-Durham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grimsley will face off against Ben L. Smith at 5:00 p.m. on November 30th. As for Riverside-Durham, they will head out on the road to face off against Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
