Basketball Recap: Chesterfield Takes a Loss

Chesterfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cheraw Braves. The Golden Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Elijah McClain went supernova For Cheraw., going 5-for-11 to rack up 21 points and seven rebounds. Jabian Quick was another key player, putting up six points and nine boards.

Chesterfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cheraw, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesterfield will challenge Marlboro County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cheraw, they will face off against Catawba Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
