Soccer Recap: Conneaut Comes Up Short

Conneaut managed to keep up with Edgewood until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Spartans came up short against the Warriors, falling 5-0. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Mason Knight was handed one for Conneaut, while Edgewood got theirs courtesy of Cole Billington.

Conneaut's loss dropped their record down to 0-5-2. As for Edgewood, their win bumped their record up to 3-1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conneaut will face off against Wickliffe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Conneaut will be up against Wickliffe's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.17 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Edgewood, they will challenge Chardon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edgewood's defense better be ready for this one: Chardon have averaged an impressive 3.4 goals per game this season.
