Softball Recap: Stansbury Wins Going Away Against Hillcrest

Stansbury barely beat Hillcrest the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Stansbury put the hurt on Hillcrest with a sharp 13-3 victory on Friday. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Stansbury got a massive performance out of Bonnie Barnett, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Tessa Baker was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Stansbury back to even at 4-4. As for Hillcrest, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-8.

Stansbury will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tooele at 3:30 p.m. on April 7. As for Hillcrest, they will head out on the road to challenge Corner Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Corner Canyon has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.73 runs per game on average), something Hillcrest will no doubt try to take advantage of.
