Volleyball Recap: Diamond Beats Joplin for Their Fourth Straight Win

Diamond proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Joplin Eagles, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Diamond was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-18, 15-7.

Callie Thomas paced Diamond's offense, picking up 11 kills. Thomas got some help from Kenzie Crook and her 20 assists. Crook and Thomas didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Diamond's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Joplin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-17-1.

Diamond wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Pierce City on the 30th. As for Joplin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Republic on the 2nd.
