Leonard is 0-9 against Jupiter since February of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with 12 defeats in a row, Leonard turned things around against Lake Worth Christian on Friday. They put the hurt on the Defenders with a sharp 7-1 victory. The Lancers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 11th.

Shawn Lopez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Bryan Quiroz-Rivera was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Angel Ortiz-Santana also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Leonard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Worth Christian only posted a batting average of .045.
Meanwhile, Jupiter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Crusaders. Considering the Warriors have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ethan Trivison tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Blanks, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Jupiter's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Leonard, their record now sits at 3-12.
Leonard might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Jupiter when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
