Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Buncombe). They never let the McDowell Titans get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Thursday. It was an even better day for Lily Johnson as she scored three goals for her team.

North Buncombe used a slightly different lineup for their bout with McDowell. And. Jayla Burlew made the most of the opportunity, scoring two goals A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

The win (which was North Buncombe's third in a row) raised their record to 9-8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for McDowell, they dropped their record down to 0-16 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Coming up, North Buncombe will square off against Asheville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Buncombe's defense better be ready for this one: Asheville have averaged an impressive 4.9 goals per game this season. As for McDowell, they will challenge Erwin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
