Volleyball Recap: Boone Central Cardinals vs. Cedar Catholic Trojans

After flying high against Fullerton on Tuesday, Boone Central came back down to earth. The Cardinals fell just short of the Cedar Catholic Trojans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Boone Central actually scored more points across those five sets (105-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 18-25, 17-25, 15-13.

Addy Hedlund paced Boone Central's offense, picking up 21 kills. Hedlund got some help from Brooklyn Primrose and her 23 assists. Hedlund also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Tresdyn Stephens, each putting up four.

Cedar Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kally Becker led the charge by getting nine digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Becker a new career-high in assists (22). Autumn Kathol was another key player, getting 16 assists and 12 digs.
