Marquette Catholic and Jersey are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Explorers are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Marquette Catholic came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to Freeburg. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Explorers have suffered since April 20th.

Marquette Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Bauer, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Jersey came up short against Waterloo on Wednesday, falling 16-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jersey's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Marquette Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.

Marquette Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Jersey when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 6-1. Can the Explorers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
