Basketball Recap: Atkins Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Caiden Allen and Brandon Yeboah

Atkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forbush Falcons. The Camels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Atkins' loss came despite strong showings from Brandon Yeboah and Caiden Allen. Yeboah went 7-for-15 to rack up 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Allen shot 58% from the field on his way to 16 points and five steals. Yeboah is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Luke Rowe also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

Mason Dudley produced another solid performance dropping a double-double with 29 points and 12 boards for Forbush. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dudley has scored at least a third of the Falcons' points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Bryant, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Atkins' record now sits at 1-5. As for Forbush, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Atkins will square off against Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Camels will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Forbush, they will challenge Elkin at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
