Football Recap: El Capitan Has No Trouble Against Tokay

While El Capitan put up some points on Saturday, the same can't be said for Tokay. The Gauchos put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 25-0 victory. The Gauchos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 25 points or more this season.

El Capitan can attribute much of their success to Aaliyah Simonian, who rushed for 81 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Those 81 rushing yards gave Simonian a new career-high.

El Capitan's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Evelynn Baeza was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks herself. She is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last eight games she's played.

The win made it two in a row for El Capitan and bumps their season record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Tokay and 4-6 Edison. As for Tokay, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

El Capitan has already played their next game, a 52-6 victory against Madera on the 9th. As for Tokay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-8 win against Edison on the 6th.
