Recap: Stanton Blue Devils vs. Eagle's View Warriors

The Stanton Blue Devils suffered their biggest loss since November 20, 2023 on Thursday. They suffered a rough 62-42 loss at the hands of Eagle's View. That's two games in a row now that Stanton has lost by exactly 20 points.

Stanton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Raza Cottey, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and three blocks. Cottey hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was David Burton, who scored 15 points along with two steals.

Eagle's View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenneth Berry led the charge by scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Justis Clements, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Stanton and nudges their season record down to 10-6. As for Eagle's View, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stanton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Baldwin is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Eagle's View, they will stay at home for another game and welcome West Nassau at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. West Nassau will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 775th, while Eagle's View is ranked 361st).
