Recap: Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes vs. Sevier County Smoky Bears

It was a good run, but the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 48-31 bruising from Sevier County. Morristown-Hamblen East has not had much luck with Sevier County recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Several Hurricanes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Wampler, who scored ten points. The game was Wampler's third in a row with at least ten points. Hudson Cloninger was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.

Morristown-Hamblen East struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Morristown-Hamblen East's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Sevier County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Morristown-Hamblen East won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cherokee at 9:30 a.m. on December 16th. Cherokee has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 13. Sevier County will be home for the holidays to greet Northview Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northview Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
