Baseball Game Preview: Terra Linda Trojans vs. Marin Catholic Wildcats

Terra Linda hasn't had much luck against Marin Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Terra Linda Trojans will challenge the Marin Catholic Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Trojans fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They walked away with a 7-2 win over St. Vincent de Paul on Thursday.

Nate Combrink made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on SiEon Davis, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Brody Daganais was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Marin Catholic narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Alhambra 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Walker Untermann looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Jude Baker was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Marin Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alhambra only posted a batting average of .130.

Terra Linda suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Marin Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Terra Linda avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
