Basketball Recap: Brewer Comes Up Short on the Road Against Danville + How To Watch

Brewer had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 57-56 to the Danville Hawks. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hawks 19-13 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Brewer lost, don't look at Camden Ballinger. Despite the final result, he shot 67% from the field to rack up 27 points and seven rebounds. Jansen Brown was another key player, putting up ten points.

Ty Bailey was nothing short of spectacular for Danville: he dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Donjay Compton, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Coming up, Brewer will head out on the road to challenge Hartselle at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Danville, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Point at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
