Wahkiakum was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Pe Ell Trojans. The game was the first time the Mules have beaten the Trojans on their court since October 23, 2017.

Wahkiakum was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-15, 21-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Pe Ell's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Milanowski, who had 14 digs.

Wahkiakum is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Pe Ell, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 19-6.

As of now, neither Wahkiakum nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
