Baseball Recap: Talawanda Takes a Loss

Talawanda managed to slip by Bishop Fenwick the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Talawanda lost 7-1 to Bishop Fenwick on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Brave couldn't push the score so high this time.

Eddie Tanner was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tanner was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Tanner wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Jones, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Talawanda dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Talawanda will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hopkinsville at 9:00 a.m. on April 2. As for Bishop Fenwick, they will take on Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
