Football Recap: Dumas' Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Dumas dropped to 7-2 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost to the West Plains Wolves on the road by a 56-37 margin. While losing is never fun, the Demons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Wolves are ranked 49th).

As for West Plains, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.1 points on average over those games.

West Plains was led to victory by SLADE RUSSELL and REID MACON. RUSSELL rushed for 353 yards and three TDs while picking up 16.8 yards per carry, while MACON rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Those 353 rushing yards gave RUSSELL a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of KANE WHITE-TINSLEY, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one score.

Dumas has already played their next contest, a 35-0 win against Pampa on the 7th. As for West Plains, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 45-7 victory against Hereford on the 7th.
