Baseball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it 12. They came up short against the Orting Cardinals, falling 15-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 13-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Orting, they now have a winning record of 3-2. That 15-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Orting's part, Johnny Turner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Turner was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Graysen Pedersen, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Laithan Lawson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

While Washington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
