Basketball Recap: James Irwin Comes Up Short

James Irwin played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Banning Lewis Academy Stallions, falling 87-25. The Jaguars have struggled against the Stallions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Jonathan Kimble was James Irwin's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Kimble also led the team in rebounds with five.

Matthew Lebron gave his former team something to remember he by as he went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 31 points and four steals for Banning Lewis Academy. The game was Lebron's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Jones, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 12 points along with seven steals and six boards.

James Irwin's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Banning Lewis Academy, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.

James Irwin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 110-41 defeat against The Vanguard School on the 17th. As for Banning Lewis Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-41 victory against Buena Vista on the 17th.
