Football Recap: Vicksburg Gators vs. Holmes County Central Jaguars
Vicksburg kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 20-6 bruising from the Holmes County Central Jaguars. Blackmore wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: Vicksburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holmes County Central only rushed for 119.
Garrison Davis had a dynamite game for Holmes County Central, throwing for 370 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 17.6 yards per attempt. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Julius Mathis was Davis' top target, picking up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Vicksburg will challenge Forest Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holmes County Central, they will be playing at home against Jefferson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
