Volleyball Recap: Cloudcroft Takes a Loss

If Cloudcroft was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mescalero Apache on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell 3-1 to the Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the SonBlazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 two weeks ago.

The final score came out to 25-15, 22-25, 25-17, 25-22.

Leading Mesilla Valley Christian School to victory were Maddie McGarvey and Julia Black. McGarvey had 17 digs and four aces, while Black had 22 digs and two assists. Those 17 digs gave McGarvey a new career-high.

Cloudcroft's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Cloudcroft nor Mesilla Valley Christian School have any future games scheduled.
