Baseball Recap: Whiting Comes Up Short

If Whiting was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Lake Station Edison on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Oilers lost 16-3 to the River Forest Ingots on Tuesday. The Oilers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Ingots from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Whiting saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaiden Nunez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Whiting's record is now 1-3. As for River Forest, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Whiting didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-3 loss against South Central on the 16th. As for River Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-2 victory against Marquette Catholic on the 17th.
