Baseball Recap: Terra Linda Starts Season with Win Against St. Vincent De Paul

Terra Linda had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Nate Combrink was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on SiEon Davis, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Brody Daganais, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Terra Linda will venture away from home to take on Marin Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they will head out to square off against Credo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
