There's no place like home for Manitou Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Ellicott Thunderhawks on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Thunderhawks: they've now won eight in a row.

Manitou Springs was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-7, 16-25, 25-14.

Manitou Springs can attribute much of their success to Gracie Esterline, who had 17 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Esterline has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good servers: Manitou Springs was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 26 aces. They are 5-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Despite the loss, Ellicott still got an impressive performance from Alanah Perez, who had 17 digs and two aces.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-9. As for Ellicott, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
