It's playoff time, and Phillipsburg had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 35-7 win over the Colonia Patriots. The Stateliners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Sam Dech had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 217 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Tyler Wargo was another key rusher, rushing for 23 yards and three TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Phillipsburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 330 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 293 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Phillipsburg didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaysen Blacknall and Linken Santini. Another thorn in Colonia's side was Aedan Hywel, who picked up two sacks and made four total tackles.

Colonia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rj Wortman, who picked up 146 receiving yards and one touchdown. Wortman's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 113 receiving yards. Dylan Chiera was another key player, having thrown for 251 yards and onetouchdown.

Phillipsburg's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Colonia, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Phillipsburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
