Football Game Preview: Goliad Tigers vs. Bishop Badgers + How To Watch

The Goliad Tigers will square off against the Bishop Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Friday, Goliad was fully in charge, breezing past West Oso 45-7. Considering the Tigers have won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Bishop made easy work of Falfurrias on Friday and carried off a 27-7 win. The Badgers pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Fightin' Jerseys cut but never quite recovered from.

Bishop's win came from a few key players Goliad will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braxten Eli Montalvo, who threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes.

Bishop has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.4 points over those games. As for Goliad, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Everything came up roses for Goliad against Bishop in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 63-16 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Badgers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
