Football Recap: Mescalero Apache Takes a Loss

Mescalero Apache was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 52-0 to the Melrose Buffaloes, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. If the Chiefs were looking for revenge after losing 52-0 to the Buffaloes when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mescalero Apache's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Melrose, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mescalero Apache is set to face off against their familiar foe Tatum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Melrose will challenge rival Lordsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
