Basketball Recap: Centennial Coyotes vs. Chaparral Firebirds
Centennial lost against Chaparral back in November of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Centennial Coyotes came up short against the Chaparral Firebirds, falling 60-34. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Firebirds are ranked 99th).

When it comes to explaining why Centennial lost, don't look at Audrey Power. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Power a new career-high in boards.

Centennial and Desert Mountain will meet in a canine-themed contest at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Centennial is facing Desert Mountain at the right time seeing as Desert Mountain is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Chaparral, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-41 loss against Arizona College Prep on the 9th.
