Softball Recap: Lutheran Falls Short Against Ranked Palmer Ridge

Lutheran faced Palmer Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Lions fell 10-7 to the Bears. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Lions, who until this game were averaging 3.42 runs allowed.

Kiley Glenn was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Khloe Kendrick also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

With the loss, Lutheran broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4. As for Palmer Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Coming up, Lutheran will take on Pueblo County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Palmer Ridge, they are taking a road trip to challenge Pueblo Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
