Bellevue East proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Millard West Wildcats 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chieftains have posted against the Wildcats since September 20, 2019.
Alisha Mcmurtry made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and one double.
