Baseball Recap: North Huron Comes Up Short

North Huron extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 13-7 to the Memphis Yellowjackets. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly six runs.

Griffen Schipinski led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Aiden Whelan was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI.

As for Memphis, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.

On Memphis' side, they let Tucker Gascoyne and Keegan Walsh run wild. Gascoyne went a perfect 2-for-2 with six stolen bases and three runs, while Walsh got on base in three of his four plate appearances with six stolen bases and two runs. Gascoyne continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Ethan Peacock also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coming up, North Huron will venture away from home to take on Peck at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Memphis, they will host Marlette at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Red Raiders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
