Volleyball Recap: The Academy of the Holy Cross' Undefeated Season over After 29 Games

After flying high against Elizabeth Seton on Tuesday, The Academy of the Holy Cross came back down to earth. The Tartans fell just short of the St. John's Cadets by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Tartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cadets earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

The Academy of the Holy Cross actually scored more points across those five sets (104-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 13-25, 17-15.

Ana Woods paced The Academy of the Holy Cross' offense, picking up 20 kills. Woods got some help from Trinity Rowles and her 30 assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, The Academy of the Holy Cross fell to 27-1-1. As for St. John's, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 17-9.

The Academy of the Holy Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. John's, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Paul VI on the 2nd.
