Baseball Recap: Clinton Central Bulldogs vs. Delphi Community Oracles
Clinton Central won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They lost 15-3 to the Delphi Community Oracles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Clinton Central of the 9-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Clinton Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Klayton Stevens, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Stevens has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
On Delphi Community's side, Brett Huffman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Huffman was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.
