Basketball Recap: Calabasas Find Success

Calabasas was handed a 27-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the El Segundo Eagles 54-51. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Coyotes as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

It was another big night for Jaylene Hughes, who posted 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Jayda Guyton was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Calabasas' record is now 3-4. As for El Segundo, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Calabasas won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northridge Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Coyotes' defense better be ready for this one: the Pumas have averaged an impressive 64.5 points per game this season. As for El Segundo, they will host St. Mary's Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
